WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MDR
We have discussed, in previous e-blasts, about EDR, which is stands for Endpoint Detection and Response. This is an AI based detection and response software, which can detect threats and respond to stop a hack on any computer (aka endpoint) and prevent the breach from reaching a network or additional endpoints.
Now we introduce you to MDR, which stands for Managed Detection and Response. MDR means you get
a fully managed threat detection and response service provided by our IT experts. MDR experts can work
directly with and train your in-house IT team, or we can work with company executives and manage threat
detection and response for you.
Our IT experts can also provide XDR, which is an EXtended Detection and Response arm of support by
monitoring threats across multiple security levels like networks, the Cloud and endpoints for a more
comprehensive approach to combating potential threats.

What are the advantages of MDR?
MDR protects organizations from cyber threats.
Why?
MDR is a security service designed to use advanced detection techniques and
a rapid incidence response by pairing technological combinations with human expertise.
THE TRUTH
Hackers are getting smarter, so you too have to up your game.
WHY MDR is Recommended by IT Techs
Shrinking budgets and leaner IT staff (within an organization) have become a huge concern because cybersecurity efforts can be time-consuming and often require a dedicated task force to manage. This is why businesses often seek a trusted, external IT partner to manage the threat detection and incidence response, so their risk of a breach, hack or malware decreases greatly. A managed cybersecurity partner will also train and educate your staff, in an effort to help employees understand their role in the company’s cybersecurity policies and procedures.
What Does MDR Do?
1. Prioritize. The MDR (managed IT provider) will sift through countless cybersecurity alerts that are received on your systems daily through automation and human analysis. Cyberthreats are then categorized by threat levels from high to low, so experts can respond immediately and accordingly. Their findings and solutions are communicated to your executives and security team.
2. Hunting. A MDR provider is your 24/7 intelligence agent, who is working for you. They identify potential risks from a platforms collected data and pass along to their analysts. Their expertise can identify and respond to threats that are sometimes missed by automated tech solutions.
3. Investigators. MDR analysts are experts, who investigate every cyberthreat, so they can communicate to you (for a better understanding) the extent, significance, seriousness and severity of each threat.
4. Remediation. Your managed partner can remediate a cyberattack and prevent it from spreading. This is why you work with a trusted MDR expert. They can pull all sorts of solutions out of their sleeves when a cyberthreat has occurred, and once their analysts investigate, they create the road map to remediate and neutralize the problem.
5. Neutralization. So, the experts stop the cyberattack, and they will return your network to its natural state. Then, a root cause analysis will be performed to fully eradicate the cyberattacker, preventing future occurrences from this type of threat.
